Wish there were more like this...

I have a lot to blog about (not to mention Sardinia and why you all should go there!) but this really struck me.

Jack Kemp has recently passed away. He was a former football player turned congressman. He served under the 1st President Bush and was the Republican Vice-President nominee in 1996.

He was a good friend of John McCain. So, what do you think he said after Obama won the Presidential Election? He wrote a letter to his grandchildren explaining the significance of this election.

I see no party lines here. RIP Mr. Kemp.

Thanks to Balloon Juice for alerting me to this story.

Wow! That was a very moving column. Mr Kemp was a rare gem in his vision. So many of our politicians are prone to tunnel vision; it's refreshing to see one who can see beyond partisanship. He will be missed.
